Make an impression - 3D and 2D Casting Training Course

2 Day Course Costs £800 (Individual Tuition)

£100 non refundable deposit to reserve course dates.

£700 balance due one week prior to day one of your course.

My intensive 2 day course will focus on 3D casting of baby’s hands and feet but also includes 2D raised impressions. This course is designed to take you from total beginner to having everything you need to get up and running. You will have hands on experience taking casts with baby models of varying ages and will provide you with professional finished casts to take away as samples.

• This course will be covered over 2 days which I suggest can be split to allow home practice before your 2^nd day. The course will be run by myself, Sarah here in my studio one to one. This will offer you the chance to benefit from my 10 years experience in running my own successful business. I will organise models for practicing and lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout each day.

• 1^st day will cover mixing and taking alginate moulds, taking clay impressions with a baby model and clasping hands. I will give you tips on choosing the most appropriate containers depending on age and how to get the best moulds. Casting the moulds for 3D casts and clay impressions for 2D impressions. De-moulding the casts and preparing for drying.

• 2^nd day will cover filing and preparing your casts, painting, finishing and finally advice on mounting in frames or on plinths.

• All materials and equipment will be provided in the price of the course and you will be given a small starter pack to take home at the end of day 1 to go home and practise taking casts and impressions in preparation for day 2. This will allow you to come back and talk through any problems or queries you may have come across throughout this time.

• By the end of day 2 you will have finished 3D casts and 2D raised impression samples ready for framing, a step by step guide to refer to, a list of suppliers and advice on marketing and getting started.

• I will offer free advice and support by both phone and e-mail for up to 3 months.

• Option to purchase frames and materials to get you started.

• This is an intensive one to one training course giving you my undivided guidance and attention. Dates can be mutually agreed with a minimum week break in between the two days to allow drying time for day 1 casts and practise time at home.

• £100 deposit is required to reserve both your course dates and area and then the balance is due 1 week prior to your course.

• Please note that these courses will be limited to a select number of candidates within the same area.
